12th ASEAN Finance Minister's Meeting

Minister Vu Van Ninh accommodated Japan’s Financial Minister

On January 7th, 2008, at the head office of the Vietnam Finance Ministry, Minister Vu Van Ninh received Finance Minister delegation of Japan headed by Finance Minister Fukushiro Nukaga. The meeting is within the visiting framework to senior leaders of Vietnam’s Government of the Finance Minister delegation.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged point of view of initiatives of regional financial cooperation. Namely, making preparation for Vietnam and Japan to co-chair the ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers’ Meeting as well as process of implementing ASEAN + 3 initiatives including: Chiang Mai Initiative and ASEAN+3 Asian Bond Market Initiative. Besides, they also share opinion on economic development trend of the two countries and of the region as well.

In addition, the two sides agreed to foster financial cooperation within the framework of bilateral and multilateral cooperation for further strengthening economic relationship of the two countries.
