The AFMM is organized annualy and hosted in turns by ASEAN countries. According to the in - turns mechanism among 10 ASEAN countries, the AFMM 2008 will be hosted by Vietnam on April 4, 2008 in Da Nang City.
At the Meeting, Finance Ministers of 10 ASEAN countries together with ASEAN General Secretary will check, assess and discuss on policies on the basis of the world and regional economic situation as well as make decision on regional financial cooperation programs.
The Meeting also welcome the World Bank President, Governor of the Central Bank of Thailand, Vietnam and Brunei and President of the ADB.
The Meeting is estimated to receive high ranking leaders of Vietnam Government. This express the high concern of the host country to the important regional cooperation event.
On the threshold of the 12th AFMM, some related important meetings take place since March 31 to April 3. These meetings are the ASEAN Central Bank Governors Meeting (ACGM), ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting, ASEAN + 3 Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting which prepare for contents submitted to Finance Ministers.
